Comcast is going to celebrate its Watchathon Week next week and will offer Xfinity customers chance to explore free shows from subscription services and premium channels during the television watching event.
Starting from April 16 to April 22, Comcast Xfinity customers can enjoy watching TV shows and movies from networks such as ABC, AMC, HBO, Starz, and Showtime. In addition, customers can also stream Netflix’s content, as well as over two dozen SVODs, like Acorn TV, a British TV service that was added to the Comcast Xfinity set-top boxes this week.
Comcast is also striving to get Internet-only customers back to the TV service, thus it is providing its broadband-only consumers a subgroup of shows for the week, through Xfinity Stream app and web portal. Also, these consumers would be able to stream premium movies and shows including Starz’s Outlander and Power, Showtime’s Billions and Homeland, and HBO’s Game of Thrones and WestWorld. In addition, they can also watch some broadcast and cable TV series from NBC, Fox, AMC, and FX+.
So, the next week is really going to be a TV carnival for Xfinity customers with Comcast’s Watchathon Week. In the next week, customers will be able to watch popular and premium shows for free.
“We just love to bring the Xfinity Watchathon Week to our subscribers every year and we amaze them with the latest and interesting content. From this year onwards, we are working to improve the facilities given to X1 customers to explore and sample the best of shows from more than twelve of traditional studios and networks, emerging SVODs, streaming services – all of them come together on one big screen at your place which is the best part,” Daniel Spinosa, Vice President of Video Entertainment Services at Comcast Cable, gave his opinion.
Comcast stated that the full list of Showtime will be available on-demand and through the app of Xfinity Stream which starts from 19th April and ends on 22nd April.
