When talking about the specifications, the device is said to have an Intel m5/i5 CPU, 8 GB /16 GB RAM and will offer you the 32GB/128 GB disk space. The screen of the device is going to be around 12.3-inches and it will come along with a USB-C fingerprint reader and a touchpad with haptic feedback. These specifications are however based on merely speculations. There are no confirmations to them.

What Does Andromeda Mean?

Android was introduced formerly for the touch based mobile phones which soon evolved into the tablets. But now the focus has been tilted to the browser, messaging and AI. A laptop was however still required for the real work to be done. So the ChromeOS took birth.

The ChromeOS was a success as it was brought with the cheap devices and it gave you the power to explore the full desktop related applications It acted similar to a stand-alone Google Chrome browser. The device was much hassle free and easier to use. You don’t have to worry about your data being lost, as it was backed up in the Cloud.

Though you require a continuous internet connectivity to completely avail the features of the OS. The absence of the applications led to the downfall of ChromeOS.

That is when the Google decided to merge the Android apps into the ChromeOS. Blending these two OS made everything flexible.

So Why ChromeOS is a No-Win Situation?

The fact that ChromeOS was still all regarding the browser and not the desktop. Android apps will work smoothly but they work just like they would on any other tablet. The apps are not as good as the other dedicated desktop apps. Andromeda is the project to change the scenario here. It will integrate the Android with ChromeOS. The name is allegedly derived by the combination Android and Chrome if you look carefully.

So Why Google Is Bringing Andromeda?

We have our eyes glued to our smartphones for most of the times. True, isn’t it? When we have some work to do, we have to shift to our desktops. If you want to edit/create a document, you can use the docs app. But it is more convenient and laid-back to work on Google Docs on desktop. So will it not be nice that you can work and simultaneously use your Android apps on the very same device?

This is the chief idea behind the Andromeda.
